HO CHI MINH HALF DAY CITY TOUR - CU CHI TUNNELS (B/L) Breakfast at your hotel. 07:30 - 08:00 AM Take a trip to visit Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification Palace, which was built on the sight of the former Norodom Palace. The Independence Palace is a widely known landmark of Ho Chi Minh City and was designed by the architect Ngo Viet Thu. Continue seeing the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the Notre Dame Cathedral (view from outside only as it is under renovation) and the historic Central Post Office. Followed by the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum the museum has a vast display of both the Indochina wars. Have lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, depart for the Cu Chi Tunnels, the trip will take approximately one and a half hours driving. Upon arrival, before exploring the tunnels, you will have a short introduction followed by an introductory video about how the tunnels were constructed and how the people survived in the harsh conditions of wartime. Then, spend your time exploring the remaining area and tunnel systems which included the specially constructed living areas with kitchens, and bedrooms side by side with other martial facilities like storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers helping whoever lives inside the tunnels meet their basic needs. Besides, there are also many hidden trap doors and dangerous traps within the maze-like tunnels for security purposes during the war. Afterward, special tea and cassava (guerilla’s food during the war) will be served. Break time for relaxation or time for those who want to try the real shooting gun (at your own expense). HO CHI MINH - MEKONG DELTA FULL DAY TOUR (B/L) Breakfast in the hotel. 07:30 - 07:45 AM Leave the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City and start your trip to depart for My Tho, the town lies on the left side of the Mekong River. Upon arrival, visit Vinh Trang Pagoda which dates back to the late 19th century. Continue your trip to My Tho and embark on the boat cruising on the mighty Mekong River viewing the life of the local people living along the banks. We stop at Unicorn Island - one of the 4 islands in the area for sightseeing. Enjoy the fresh tropical fruits served in the heart of the garden accompanied by traditional southern Vietnamese folk music at the plantation. Embarked on the small boats and rowed the local people through the small canals with water coconut trees to visit the local factories. There you will taste the honey tea and see the local people produce the coconut candy milk and of course, you also can try it or stroll in the garden where the locals feed honeybees. Have lunch at a restaurant. Break time. In the afternoon, time to cycle around Tan Thach village, and meet the local villagers to experience the local daily life in the Mekong Delta. Boarding the motorboat back to My Tho and taking another 1,5 hours to drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. 17:00 - 18:00 Reach Ho Chi Minh City. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
